Mirador San Luis

Posted on November 8, 2023February 9, 2024 by Ultimate Guide

About: This viewpoint looks West toward the Pacific Coast and the Nicoya Gulf. It is beautiful at any time of day, but especially at sunset. The road to get here from Santa Elena/Monteverde is a steep and winding downhill, however, the road is paved and in good condition. It can be reached by foot, but it is a steep climb and there is no sidewalk. There is a bench, and parking is free but there is not much space. You just have to park on the side of the road.

Province: Puntarenas

Starting from: Monteverde

Time to reach from starting location: 14 minutes

Time needed for activity: as much as you want

Kid friendly: Yes

Wheelchair accessible: Yes

What to wear and bring: Camera, warm clothes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hot drink

Tips: Drive slow and safe. Do not visit during heavy rain. It is the perfect stop on the way down or back up from San Luis, where you can visit El Cafetal Coffee Tour or Finca Ecologica San Luis. Also nearby is Jaguar Art, a worthy stop.
