Penca Beach

Posted on August 11, 2025February 19, 2025 by Ultimate Guide

About: This is a great, less crowded beach option in the Flamingo area. To arrive you simply turn off the main road on the way from Potrero to Las Catalinas, just after the Potrero Plaza. The sand and water are clear, and the waves can be calm or a bit rougher depending. It’s another great place to watch the sunset. There are a few trees, and some rocks and tidepools.

Province: Guanacaste

Starting from: Flamingo

Time to reach from starting location: 15 minutes
