Playa Danta to Playa Dantita

Posted on August 29, 2025February 21, 2025 by Ultimate Guide

About: This is a great, short but steep hike with unbeatable views. It starts at one beach, Playa Danta, and reaches another, Playa Dantita. There are several viewpoints of the ocean and coast as you go up the hill. The first beach is more popular, located at Las Catalinas. The second is much lesser known and therefore less crowded. There is little shade coverage, so it can get very hot when the sun is at its strongest.

Province: Guanacaste

Starting from: Flamingo

Time to reach from starting location: 20 minutes

Time needed for activity: 1 hour

Kid friendly: Yes

Wheelchair accessible: No

What to wear and bring: Comfortable clothes, walking or hiking shoes, sandals or water shoes, swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, sunglasses, umbrella or shade, camera, backpack, water, snacks, pack lunch

Tips: Bring plenty of snacks and water since there is nothing sold once leaving Las Catalinas.
