About: This national park offers a main trail along the Rio Negro that is an in-and-out trail of 6 kilometers one way. There is a secondary trail that branches off from the main trail called the Plinia Trail. Attractions include a main waterfall, the Encanto Waterfall, as well as smaller cascades and natural pools along the river. There is also a large rock formation, Cerro La Cangreja. This is a less popular national park due to its more remote location, so the possibility of seeing fauna is generally higher. There are private guides not associated with the park usually waiting at the entrance to offer their services. These are usually very experienced guides that can provide a lot of information as well as help spot difficult-to-see fauna. If you can afford it, it is definitely worth it, but not necessary to hike the trails.
