Islita Beach

Posted on January 29, 2026April 15, 2025 by Ultimate Guide

About: This is a smaller, more secluded and less frequented beach in front of a small town with few establishments around other than the upscale hotel across the road from the beach. Surprisingly, there is a nearby domestic airport, so it isn’t completely remote. There are a couple of restaurants and one minimart. Depending on the conditions, you may be able to swim and surf at this beach. The sand is decent, but not the nicest.

Province: Guanacaste

Starting from: Samara

Time to reach from starting location: 39 minutes

Time needed for activity: 1+ hour

Kid friendly: Yes

What to wear and bring: Comfortable clothes, sandals or water shoes, swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, sunglasses, umbrella or shade, camera, backpack, water, snacks, pack lunch
