Arenal 1968

About: There are two trail loops, one shorter and one longer that goes by a small lagoon. Both go through the old lava flow. They end up at a large viewpoint area with a cafe that sells food and drinks. There are guides available.

Time needed for activity: 2-3 hours

Kid friendly: Yes

Wheelchair accessible: Yes, the viewpoint area is accessible to all up a ramp from the parking lot.

What to wear and bring: Comfortable clothes, walking or hiking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, poncho or rain jacket, field guides, camera, binoculars

Tips: Always hike early in the morning to have a better chance avoiding the rain.
