Barva Volcano National Park

About: This volcano is part of Braulio Carrillo National Park, which has two sectors available to the public, the Barva Volcano Sector and the Quebrada Gonzalez Sector. This sector has 4 hiking trails totaling about 10 kilometers which visit the volcano crater as well as a lagoon and a viewpoint. There is drinking water, bathrooms, tables, and a camping area for overnight camping.

Wheelchair accessible: No

What to wear and bring: Comfortable clothes, walking or hiking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, sunglasses, poncho or rain jacket, field guides, camera, binoculars, backpack, water, snacks, pack lunch

Tips: No food is sold here, so bring your own food. You need a 4×4 to reach the entrance, or you can park about kilometers away and walk.
