El Choyin (Public Hot Springs)

About: These are free (except for parking) public hot springs you can spend an hour to half a day at enjoying nature in its truest form. The water temperature is lukewarm, not too cold or too hot. It can get crowded, but you can always move up or down the river to find a calmer spot. Coconuts and other snacks may be for sale.

What to wear and bring: Swimsuit, sandals, towel, change of clothes, sunscreen, hat, cash, water, drinks, snacks, pack lunch

Tips: Parking is on the side of the road near the bridge over the river where the steps to go down are. Depending how crowded it is, you may need to park further away. The parking attendants will help you find a spot. You will need cash for parking and any snacks you may want to purchase. There are steps down to the river but it is a bit technical to climb down.
