Minas/Zapotillal Beach

Posted on August 10, 2025February 18, 2025 by Ultimate Guide

About: This beach is reached on an unpaved backroad, making it a little bit difficult to access, but it is so worth it. Of course, there are very few people here compared to the more popular beaches in the area. There is plenty of shade, the water is clear and calm as it is in a bay, and the sand is clean and white. There are some rocks and tide pools to check on on the South side.

Province: Guanacaste

Starting from: Flamingo

Time to reach from starting location: 41 minutes

Time needed for activity:

Kid friendly: Yes

Wheelchair accessible: Yes

What to wear and bring: Comfortable clothes, sandals or water shoes, swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, sunglasses, umbrella or shade, camera, backpack, water, snacks, pack lunch, cash

Tips: During rainy season, the road can be muddy and it is best to have a 4×4 SUV to avoid getting stuck.
