Mirador Valle Escondido Preserve and Mirador El Maike

About: These are two viewpoints just a short distance away from one another on the side of the road from Santa Elena toward the Monteverde Cloud Forest. You can park across the street from Mirador Valle Escondido Preserve on the side of the road or at El Bosque Restaurant, Casem Co-op, or Taty’s Bakery and walk the short distance. There are benches at the viewpoints. You can see all the way to the gulf coast on a clear day.

What to wear and bring: Camera, warm clothes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hot drink

Tips: Get a coffee from a nearby restaurant and walk down the road to these two viewpoints. It can be windy and cold at some times of the year and day so dress warmly. If you stay on top of the weather forecast you may get lucky with a spectacular sunset!
