Playa Rajada

Posted on September 19, 2025March 18, 2025 by Ultimate Guide

About: This is a beautiful, virtually untouched beach. There are no services on the beach, though there are restaurants along the dirt road heading to town. The water is crystal clear and the sand is white. There are a few different entrances to the beach, and you can even drive your car onto the beach at some points. There are plenty of trees that provide shade near the water.

Province: Guanacaste

Starting from: Liberia

Time to reach from starting location: 1 hour 22 minutes

Time needed for activity: as much as you want

Kid friendly: Yes

Wheelchair accessible: No

What to wear and bring: Comfortable clothes, sandals or water shoes, swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, sunglasses, umbrella or shade, camera, backpack, water, snacks, pack lunch

Tips: There is a second Playa Rajada very close by, so don’t confuse the two, though both are great options. The other one is on the other side of the Dreams Las Mareas Resort, right next to its sister beach, Playa Rajadita.
