Province: Cartago

Starting from: Downtown Cartago

Time to reach from starting location: 1 hour 30 minutes

Time needed for activity: 1-2 hours

Kid friendly: Yes

Wheelchair accessible: Yes

What to wear and bring: Comfortable, warm clothes, walking or hiking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, sunglasses, umbrella, poncho or rain jacket, field guides, camera, binoculars, backpack, water, snacks

Tips: It is up in the mountains just off the road through “cerro de la muerte” and therefore can get very windy, cold, rainy, and foggy, but it is well worth the stop if you are travelling through to San Isidro de El General or if you are staying in the nearby towns of San Gerardo de Dota or on your way to hike Chirripo.
