About: One of the farther activities from La Fortuna, if you have a free day, it is worth the trip. There are a lot of other activities to do nearby to make it a full day, or even consider staying a night or more in the area. It is a long hike, first to a beautiful waterfall that you have to go down a long, steep set of stairs to get to, and then to the point where the rivers mix and form the infamous bright blue color. You will likely see a lot of wildlife. There are guides available or you can do it self-guided. It gets pretty crowded and is popular with locals and tourists alike. You cannot swim in any part of the park, but there are plenty of places nearby that offer access to the river.
