About: This is a wildlife sanctuary that cares for local wildlife brought in by the government. They are not a zoo. They receive injured, sick, confiscated, and displaced animals, specializing in toucans, sloths, and owls, but also other wildlife. Their ultimate goal is to rehabilitate animals back into the wild when possible. However, there are always individuals that must remain in captivity for various reasons, mainly that they will not survive in the wild. They offer 3 different tours: an educational ranch tour, an educational ranch tour plus extra time with the sloths, and their nocturnal tour. This is a terrific option for seeing and learning about wildlife up close in a responsible way in the city. There is a gift shop and drinks included in your visit.
